i hate this olive garden in St Louis Park the food looks like its microwaved like the sauce looks all dry and you stir it up than it gets creamy like its been sitting there! and i always go and the service is horrible never no refills or they totally forget i was there! one time in the summer a centipede crawled next to our booth and i called the manager over and she says its part of nature! i said yeah outside and i walked away. Don't come to this location its not good the one in Bloomington is way better

Went there with 7 coworkers for lunch. Got there at 11:30, and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated, even though the place was half empty. From the moment I walked in, I noticed that every worker looked grumpy. They were grumpy to the people in front of us, and us as well. It took another 10 minutes for them to take our order once seated. And they were disorganized and not friendly. It took another 30 minutes for us to get our food, and they forgot to submit 2 people's orders. They got their sandwiches 10 minutes later than the rest of us. The food was ok, but I won't be back to this location.

So I am a frequent customer of this Olive Garden and had a bad experience this time around. We waited for our server for 20 mins to bring us water on top of that she disappeared during our appetizers for a half hour and we had to ask another server for a refill of water. When they brought out our entrees my hubby got the chicken Marsala and when they brought the plate they substituted fries for garlic mash potatoes with out even asking if he wanted fries. For 18$ for this dish why even put fries on the plate? Who eats fries at Olive Garden? He was so disappointed we just split my entree. All they could do for us is say sorry and the server rolled her eyes when hubby said he didn't want the dish he ordered. Wouldn't it be wise to tell the customer they are out of something before they go making it? Been here many times and this is by far the worst experience I may never come back also considering our burnt breadsticks and undercooked stuffed mushrooms so sad but I do not like unexceptable service.

Spaghetti & Meatballs, no surprises here. But with the Braised Beef & Asiago Tortelloni however, the sliced short ribs were surprisingly tender; a very nice edition to a ravioli. And while the basil-marsala sauce had a very nice flavor to it, I found it too sweet, as if it was made with a ton of sugar. My 6 year old of course loved the bread sticks, they are soft and warm, with a hint of garlicky, toastiness. I tried to not to fill up on them however, because I learned that with my entree, the soup was all you can eat! And I really enjoyed the potato and sausage soup, 2 bowls worth, I might have gotten a third but the entree arrived. And apparently the decor was suburb, as the six year old said she wanted her room painted the same way. Service was excellent.

I had the unlimited soup and salad. The salad was good as well as the chicken gnocchi soup. I also was able to try the pasta fagioli soup which was good as well. The service was excellent. I was even given a free birthday lemon cream dessert cup.

I came to Olive Garden with my co-workers to celebrate a work occasion. First, as other reviewers have said -- THIS IS OLIVE GARDEN. That being said. We had excellent service. Food was served hot. Food came quickly. Food was as expected. What's not to love. Then again we came at lunch. I wouldn't be waiting more than 15 minutes (I'm talking about you dinner time Friday/Saturday rush), however mid day Italian feast I'm on board.

This is the first of many reviews I'll write in a series of big chain posts. Olive Garden - long known for "American-Italian fusion" is right by my house and offers a number of great deals on any given occasion. Last night's specialty was the "Buy One, Take One". I opted for the Mezzaluna Ravioli while my dining companion got the Fettuccine Alfredo. Both of these dishes are vegetarian. We began with soup, salad, and breadsticks, my hot date opting for the salad which was, for all intents and purposes, a great tossed salad. They could have destemmed the pepperoccini to prevent the inevitable mess, but that's negligible. The breadsticks were classic Olive Garden, salty, buttery goodness. While they don't match my favorite Trattoria - Fazoli's - breadsticks, which are often delivered the moment you run out and in bulk, slathered in an even greater amount of "buttered aioli", they get the job done, especially for sopping up the remnants of the chicken gnocchi soup. I will gripe about that, though, the gnocchi seemed overly doughy and less than perfect, which I'd never expect from a restaurant that delivers just a paltry 6 meals for $27.00 + tip. Then came the entrees. Having long been a fan of the ancient Italian art of Alfredo, I expected my tasting of this classic dish to be less underwhelming than it was. Noodles, while done perfect al-dente, were complimented by a slightly powdery cheese sauce. Passable, though I expected better. My plate, on the other hand, was smothered in a healthy serving of tender, cheese-filled raviolis, though they went light on the fresh mozzerella when packing them. Topped with sugar-sweet marinara and freshly grated parmesan cheese from some contraption surely devised by Leonardo Da Vinci and brought into modernization, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Service was a tad distracted (likely due to how busy the place was) and replacements on the soup and breadsticks didn't come until far later, though we were presented with a smile and a sampling of mid-range rosé upon entry. Ambience? Classic Italian Trattoria. It's just like the Olive Garden in Toscana, maintaining their brand with architecture that is as authentically Italian as the food. Overall, 3/5. The food was passable though missed the mark in a few places and the slow service just left me yearning to get home and eat my second helping (though it actually made its way to lunch today as I gorged myself on fine Kemp's Ice Cream instead). Beyond the sarcasm, this is a solid Olive Garden. I had a good time, will be back!

Great authentic Italian experience! Our server was very kind and entertained our every request with a smile and a laugh. The breadstick, soup, and salad were unlimited (can you believe it??) and my fettuccini alfredo was cheesy and filling! PS order the peach sangria!

Typical Olive Garden. The food was pretty standard. I'm used to waiting quite a long time to get a table at Olive Gardens back home, but at this location there was no wait. They were not very crowded on a Thursday night. The waitresses and hostesses were very friendly. No complaints.

This is a review I did not expect to write. I was invited here by an elderly relative for a family dinner. Why not? The food was great. I only tried my own meal, which was Tilapia and Shrimp with broccoli. The generous portion of tilapia was beautifully cooked. The shrimp were small but okay. The sauce was light. Broccoli perfectly cooked. I loved the salad. The dressing is tangy. The salad has pepperonici, which I love. The service was good. The food came too soon after the soup and salad was delivered, maybe it is supposed to be that way, but we were all juggling plates while they were delivering more hot ones. They kept the beverages filled and supplied us with as much salad and breadsticks as we wanted. My kids ate everything. I did not expect to like it. It's good. I'll check it out in my hometown.

For the most part, I've had pretty good service here. The food and the waiters are great there. I love that they give you free breadsticks and salad before your meal. The cooks do a great job at cooking their food. I've always had it served in a timely manner. The only thing I don't like is their parking lot. There's too little room to drive. I always get nervous on that thing.

I was at this Olive Garden a few weeks ago with my family. The waitress was so freaking rude. The food wasn't good. I wouldn't recommend anybody to go to this place!!!!

We visited Olive Garden at St. Louis Park on Sunday Afternoon. We ordered Minestrone (veg) and Chicken and Gnocchi soup. Both were awesome. My wife ordered Lasagna Fritta which my wife loved. She also ordered stuffed mushroom which was bland for her liking. I ordered the Grilled chicken flat bread which was fine and crab topped chicken which was good. The service was pretty good and we were provided a sling for the car seat too.

Great service and great food. We had the Chicken Scampi, salad and soup. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was well cooked and seasoned well. We were thanked when we came in and as we exited. This was a great experience.

Chains are my guilty pleasure bc they tend to give the best customer service. However, this was not the case here. Came here after a much needed most workout meal and were real disappointed. We were seated in an awful area next to a woman who would not shut up. Ugh. Our server was barely around even though it was very late, and they probably wanted to get outta there. Weird. I got the build your creation pasta with GF rotini, a spicy sauce, and meatballs. Pretty forgettable not that I expected much. I guess I've had better experiences at the OG and was expecting more from the classic salad and breadsticks. It's just not what it used to be :(

Last night, we had a five-star Olive Garden visit. The food was delicious and the service was attentive and friendly. Our server was Danielle K., and she is great! Besides making sure our meal was perfect, she took a moment to help my friend with his new Android phone. We had a few good laughs and will definitely be back.

Olive Garden is Olive Garden, everyone has been to one at least once in their life, so I don't really feel the need to review the actual food. Lets just say its good, not fantastic, not fine dining, but definitely delicious meals can be had. Plus, you can never go wrong with soup, salad and bread sticks. So, lets review the location first: fantastic, perfect location on the frontage road near the West End. Now that Chili's closed (and has been for some time) there is far more parking available. It would get hard to park when Chili's and Olive Garden were both busy (lunch, weekends). Even if there are people waiting inside, it never seems to take terribly long to be seated. They give you a buzzer so you don't need to pay attention or keep checking back with the hostess for updates on seating times. The servers are typically nice, prompt and knowledgeable about the food and wine selections. They do a good job keeping your drinks, salad and bread sticks filled, too. My favorite bit of visiting Olive Garden is getting the Andies Mints with the bill - delicious and perfect after dinner treat. On a side note - my company has used their catering on several occasions and they do a great job. The food is always fresh and warm, ready to go at the time you choose, and they will help you haul it to your vehicle if needed. The prices are pretty good too, not as expensive as other restaurants in the area.

Visited this location on a Saturday night at 5:45pm. It was very busy. People lined up outside the door but it only took us 10 minutes to get a table for 2. This is a chain restaurant and the quality was consistent with that category. Everything was hot, fresh and delicous. Service was pretty great considering how busy they were. No complaints! Eggplant parmesean--yum!

The bar was understaffed, full bar and two service windows, only one bartender. Got seated all was going ok until the salads the one soup ordered did not show. Asked server for it he said right away after being reminded again he finally brought the soup. The food came right after told the food runner she said she would get a manager took the food and went away. Manager comes clueless barely describes this guy, food never comes server comes over to start clearing away dirty dishes we ask about food he says thought you got it. We got up and left.

My husband and I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, and we will probably not be returning. The restaurant was packed, as is to be expected at noon on a Saturday. However, we were able to get a table right away. I thought this was pretty lucky... I was wrong. After being seated, we waited for about 15 minutes before a server came over to greet us. Because we had already waited so long, we already knew what food we wanted to order, too. When we tried to give this waitress both orders, though, she informed us that she was only there to take our drink orders and that our actual server would be with us to take our food order shortly. We waited another 25 minutes and never got our drinks. We never got the opportunity to order food either because no one else ever came back to our table. We eventually accepted that we weren't ever actually going to be served here and left. The people seated behind us suffered the same fate and left at the same time we did... and they said they had been sitting there for about 10 minutes before we even got there! On the way out, I asked one of the hostesses if I could speak to the manager. I waited another 10 minutes for this opportunity while she wandered around the restaurant apparently looking for him/her. I finally gave up on that, too. I think this is the only restaurant that I have ever spent almost an hour in without even being served a beverage. I'm certainly not in a hurry to come back to be treated like I'm invisible again.

This food is just awful! Especially considering what you pay for it. it's WAY overpriced! I could make better food at home myself! This is just a rip off. Gross! The lettuce in their salad is even the cheapest iceberg lettuce they could find. I was expecting WAY more. I'm very disappointed with this place.

I guess I had no complaints about the food here. Our service was okay, but definitely not memorable. The server didn't know about one of the drinks they had and was confused when my GF ordered it. He didn't seem too pleased to be there that night but it didn't affect our dinner at all. We aren't there to chat with the staff anyways. Chicken and Gnocchi soup is always delicious as well as the salad. I ordered a braised beef tortelloni i think it was called. Meat was tender and sauce was good. The bread sticks were a little stale and the vodka soda I ordered tasted like pure club soda. That's what you get though at corporate restaurants, jigger pours. Will I go back, sure! But probably for when i'm hung over and want the soup and salad.

Tried to go to the new Crave in St. Louis Park on Saturday but it was a zoo. So we tried to go to the new Cooper's but it was also a zoo. I was hungry and irked and Olive Garden was right around the corner. And it was alright. I had capellni pomodoro which was good enough. My friend had the "tour of tuscany" which was chicken parmesan, fettucini alfredo and something else I can't remember, and he liked it. Nothing too memorable, but again, good enough. The place smells kind of funny when you walk in and parents seem to lose the ability to control their children when they eat here, but the chairs have wheels, so that makes up for those transgressions.

I have seen better Olive gardens then this one, But the one thing that did stuck out in my mind was the waiter, Brandon. He was vary nice and full of energy. He event suggested a different sample of wine after I told him that I am not really big on drinking wine because of the taste. But I was surprised by what he selected, So i bought a class for each person at the table and left him with a bigger tip. Thanks Brandon!!!

This specific location, somewhat reminds me of a nursing home. It is an Olive Garden, and their seats are like doctor office waiting room seats with wheels. It is very weird, but comfy, right? Also, I went there for lunch with my boyfriend since we has a good coupon for it, and I'm pretty sure we were the youngest people there. It was a bit awkward sitting there in our wheely chairs with the average demographic of 65+ women all sucking down noodles! The food was OK. Not anything exciting or anything.. Olive Garden! I had the ravioli. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but at the same time, I would order it again. Their meals are pretty hefty. First, you get soup or salad, or if you are feeling frisky, you can get both! The salad is good. I actually enjoy the dressing. Plus, it comes with endless bread sticks. And if you're anything like me, you'll eat like 8, because bread is THAT good! Then, your entree, is like the size of an average hubcap.. Freaking HUGE! How was I suppose to eat all of that? My only gripe is how big everything is, and how it (as in the ravioli) doesn't stand well over night for lunch the next day. I was a bit surprised and angry about that. I wasted A LOT of food!

I have been going to this Olive Garden with my husband for 6 years, and have never had a bad experience there. The waitstaff is always very curteous and friendly. Beverages and meals come in a timely fashion. The one time we went and the kitchen was backed up, they let us know before they even sat us down, which is fine because then we knew what to expect. The food comes in really huge portions, and the prices fit the portions perfectly. The breadsticks always come out hot, and the dressing on the salad is awesome. The best is in Augus(i think) they do the never ending pasta bowl, which is perfect because then you can try different sauces with different noodles. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place to any pasta lover!!

First of all, this restaurant had an icky feel just when I walked in the door. It seemed very cheap and abandoned. Then, my friend and I waited almost five minutes for someone to not only acknowledge us, but to seat us, and it obviously was not busy enough for this sort of wait. Our waiter was nice, but he seemed socially awkward. Our food came out in a timely manner, so that was nice. Our sodas were refilled without running out and having to ask, so that was good as well. The food.. Well, it was mediocre. My friend had the braised beef tortellini, which was more appetizer size than entree. My food was decent but nothing to rave about. I had the seafood portilla and the garlic sauce was pretty watered down. Of course, we had the salad and breadsticks, but the breadsticks were not very warm or soft. Overall, I got what I expected, but don't think I will be going back anytime soon.

We go to Olive Garden quite often, but this was the best visit in a while. We went here for dinner yesterday (7/14/12) and there was a 20 minute wait, which is to be expected. So got seated after about 20 minutes. We decided to order off the "2 for $25" menu. We got zupa toscana and spaghetti with meatballs. i got the salad and the mozzerella chicken pasta. Both items were delicious, the breadsticks were always warm and fresh, the salad was to die for as usual. Also, upon ordering, our server asked if we had any time constraints. I've never been asked that before so I was really impressed. The food was incredible and we couldn't even eat our dessert. For dessert, we were going to share the triple chocolate strata, which we had to eat later that night at home. Very impressed with this location and visit.

A friend and I were going to have dessert here one night. We showed up about 15-20 minutes before closing time, and the greeter told us "We are closing soon, so I don't think you want to stay here, I mean I could seat you if you really want, but, um (and walked away and left me there)" Really? That was the rudest I've ever been treated at a resteraunt, and I didn't even stay long enough to get a seat! We left right away, pretty annoyed because they were still open and we were only coming for dessert. I'm 100% not ever coming back here, I'll find the other 20 Olive Garden's in the cities if I want mediocre Italian food.

I tend to enjoy my experiences at Olive Garden, despite how packed it often is. I normally come with large parties, anyway. Let's start with the waiters. They're pleasant, if not tired a lot of the time. They're usually always on time with the drinks and the food, and in the years I've been attending, there haven't been any mix-ups with orders. The food is pretty good, despite being a bit bland at times. The chicken is just like every other chain restaurant's - flavorless and cold. The salad and bread sticks are delicious, and I usually make the mistake of stuffing myself with those before the meal even comes. I guess I can't save myself from the delicious combination of olives, parmesian cheese, and italian dressing all thrown together in a salad. This isn't really the type of restaurant that stands out as spectacular or anything, but if you're looking for a formal but not too formal place for a get together of sorts, this would probably be the place to go.

This is another restaurant that I frequently order from for work lunches. Their menu tends to change up quite a bit, which can be frustrating - I have picky eaters to contend with, and they don't like it when their favorite item(s) are no longer available. That being said, the staff on the phone has always been helpful and courteous. They know their menu well, and are apologetic when items are no longer available. My food is always ready to go right on time, so the person picking it up doesn't have to wait. When the food arrives here at the office, it's always hot, and a good portion for the price. On top of that, lunches come with your choice of soup or salad - bonus! Their lunch salads are HUGE, and come in a nice container with dressing, croutons, and cheese packets on the side. No need to deal with a soggy salad when you aren't eating at the restaurant. I haven't personally eaten at an Olive Garden in years, but their takeout service is pretty awesome. Keep up the good work, OG!

Dining Experience: The waiter was very nice and on task with everything! I went around dinner time (7:00 P.M.) and waiting was approximately 30-45 minute wait which was not bad. Food Experience: I had the Stuff Chicken Di Florentine. It was pretty tasty. I love their never ending bread sticks and salads. Double yummy for my tummy! Wine: Don't forget to order a glass of Moscato along with your meal! Every sip will get your eyes rolling with satisfaction!

Service: Very Poor. We came in for a late dinner (around 8PM). Waited long periods of time for between every request (water, ordering, etc.). Had to repeat most requests as the waiter forgot. Desert was served with the ice cream melted. Food: Salad and breadsticks were good. Main dish(es) were very average. Nothing special.

My family and I went for supper today because I had an appointment near here. We waited a bit for the waitress to come take our drink order after we were seated. We got the 2 for 25 dollars deal so it came with soup and my kid had pasta off the kid's menu. Our soup came first. I asked for her to bring pepper grinder to put pepper on my soup. Normally the wait staff are supposed to grind it on your food like they do the cheese. She just set it on the table and left. We had only half eaten our soup when the waitress brought out our food. When we finished our soup, we were not asked if we would like more. My kid's pasta barely had any sauce on it. maybe one fourth cup at the most. And every time she kept bringing more bread sticks, she would only bring 3 at a time in the basket like they were rationing the. Not sure if the waitress stayed in the kitchen a lot but had to ask for her. I just felt like when she finally came, we were being rushed to leave. The food was good but I think we will stick to the Bloomington or Roseville location, Much better service.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
